Reporting to the Director of FP&A, you’ll produce management-facing reports, help build the annual budget, and run analyses to support operational decision-making.

This role is a good fit for someone early in their finance career who is detail-oriented, works well against deadlines, and is comfortable pulling data across systems to build clear, accurate reporting. You’ll get real ownership early, learn how a scaling finance team operates, and have room to take on more complex analyses as you grow.

  • Support monthly internal financial reviews, such as budget vs. actual variance analyses.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting for the Board of Directors.
  • Support monthly investor reporting.
  • Maintain internal and external-facing long-term financial models.
  • Own monthly compliance reporting.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Modeling Support

  • Support the bottoms-up budget build during the annual planning cycle, working with department owners to gather data and forecast their spend.
  • Build and maintain tools for department heads to manage their budgets.

Cross-Functional & Ad Hoc

  • Take on ad hoc analysis and automation projects to increase team efficiency.

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or a similar analytical role (strong internships considered).
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills, including working with large data sets, and building clean, auditable models.
  • Exposure to NetSuite and an HRIS or payroll system like Rippling is a plus.
  • Comfort building board- and executive-level slides in PowerPoint and Google Slides.
  • A solid grounding in core FP&A concepts, including budget-vs-actual, variance analysis, and margin.
  • Strong attention to detail and the discipline to hit recurring deadlines.
  • Clear writing and communication, with the ability to turn data into concise summaries for leadership.
  • A collaborative approach and genuine interest in growing with the team.

  • Support annual planning, quarterly business reviews, and resource allocation by connecting partnership strategy and execution to the company’s financial goals

  • Build executive-ready narratives that clearly explain marketplace performance, investment tradeoffs, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions

  • Partner with Analytics and Data Science to build dashboards and decision tools that give business leaders visibility into partnership health and investment performance

  • Lead special projects focused on developing scalable financial frameworks that inform marketplace investment decisions and help maintain healthy supply-and-demand dynamics

In order to be successful, you must bring

  • 6+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, marketplace strategy, business operations, corporate strategy, consulting, analytics, or a related function

  • Strong financial modeling skills, including experience with driver-based models, cohort models, unit economics, LTV/CAC, contribution margin, ROI analysis, scenario planning, and long-range planning

  • Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, including supply-and-demand balance, liquidity, matching, utilization, pricing, incentives, retention, and monetization

  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for senior executives and cross-functional partners

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build concise executive narratives and influence stakeholders across Finance, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Operations

  • SQL, BI, AI fluency, or data visualization experience preferred but not required, depending on the analytics support model

Expected salary ranges

  • For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $191,300.00 - $247,500.00.

Finance Head of Underwriting – Credit Fund at Xsolla

Head of Underwriting designs credit policy and underwriting frameworks for a private credit fund, leads facility structuring, and mentors junior credit analysts.

Lead Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Xsolla is seeking a Head of Underwriting to serve as the fund’s senior credit authority alongside the Chief Credit Officer. You will design the underwriting framework from a clean sheet, lead the underwriting and structuring of the fund’s first facilities, and stand in front of LPs as living proof that the fund underwrites to institutional standards.

This is a builder’s mandate. You will codify how this fund underwrites — the credit playbook, standards, templates, and documentation that make the process repeatable and defensible — and, as the team grows, mentor the junior credit hires who operate it.

The role reports directly to Stan Rudoi, Chief Credit Officer and Head of the Xsolla Credit Fund, and sits on the fund’s credit committee.

ABOUT US

Xsolla is a global commerce company with robust tools and services to help developers solve the inherent challenges of the video game industry. From indie to AAA, companies partner with Xsolla to help them fund, distribute, market, and monetize their games. Grounded in the belief in the future of video games, Xsolla is resolute in the mission to bring opportunities together, and continually make new resources available to creators. Headquartered and incorporated in Los Angeles, California, Xsolla operates as the merchant of record and has helped over 1,500+ game developers to reach more players and grow their businesses around the world. With more paths to profits and ways to win, developers have all the things needed to enjoy the game.

Beyond its core commerce platform, Xsolla is building a private credit fund that lends to video game studios, underwritten with a data advantage no traditional lender has: Xsolla’s own payments telemetry across thousands of games. The fund is in its capital formation phase and is led by Stan Rudoi, Chief Credit Officer. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help raise a first-time fund inside a profitable, global gaming-commerce company, alongside the broader Xsolla capital markets ecosystem (Xsolla Funding Club, Xsolla SPAC 1 — Nasdaq: XSLLU, and other strategic vehicles).

For more information, visit xsolla.com.

Responsibilities

Underwriting Framework and Credit Policy

  • Design the fund’s underwriting framework from scratch: credit policy, underwriting standards, rating and scoring methodology, credit memo templates, and approval workflows — built for LP diligence from day one.
  • Build the data edge into the process: integrate Xsolla’s payments telemetry and game-revenue data into underwriting as a durable information advantage.

Deal Underwriting and Structuring

  • Lead the underwriting of lending facilities to game studios and gaming businesses: financial analysis, revenue durability, downside cases, and recovery analysis.
  • Structure facilities: term loans, revolvers, royalty- and revenue-based structures — including covenants, collateral packages, borrowing bases, and pricing.
  • Draft and negotiate term sheets and credit documentation with borrowers alongside external counsel.

Credit Committee and Governance

  • Stand up and run the credit committee process: present transactions, document decisions, and maintain an audit trail that stands up to LP and auditor scrutiny.
  • Establish portfolio monitoring: watchlist discipline, covenant tracking, and a workout playbook as the portfolio builds.

LP Diligence and Fundraising Support

  • Be the credit face of the fund: appear in fund materials and LP meetings as the fund’s credit authority; own underwriting answers in LP due diligence.
  • Support capital formation: help shape the fund’s risk-return narrative, portfolio construction guidelines, and track-record presentation.

Credit Playbook and Team Building

  • Codify the credit playbook: standards, templates, and documentation that make the fund’s underwriting repeatable and audit-ready.
  • Build the bench: as the fund scales, hire and mentor the junior credit team — analysts, associates, and in time a portfolio/risk officer.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience

  • 7+ years in private credit, direct lending, specialty finance, or leveraged finance, with personal responsibility for underwriting and closing institutional credit transactions.
  • Experience at an early-stage or first-time credit fund — credit policy written from scratch, LPA input, first LP diligence — is strongly preferred. You have seen what a fund needs before it has infrastructure.
  • Lending against media, IP, royalties, recurring digital revenue, or gaming businesses is a strong plus.
  • A track record you can walk LPs through: deals underwritten, structures used, and how they performed — including the ones that went wrong and what you did about it.

Skills and Competencies

  • Deep fluency in credit analysis, financial modeling, covenant design, collateral structures, and credit documentation.
  • The gravitas to sit across from LPs, investment committees, and founders — and the judgment to say no to a deal.
  • Enjoys mentoring junior team members and building a strong credit culture as the team grows.
  • Comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving team where you build the machine you then operate.

Education and Credentials

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; an MBA and/or a CFA charter is preferred.

Benefits

We are passionate about fostering a supportive environment for our team, so we prioritize the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our employees and their families through a comprehensive Benefits Program. Starting in 2020, in partnership with Monogram Capital Partners, we embarked on a bold new vision to be the leading product development and production partner in the country for emerging and established brands.  To realize that vision, we are investing at an unprecedented level in new technology, processes, and plans that will completely rethink the way brands view and interact with their manufacturer.  Come help us build the future of the personal care and beauty landscape, one partnership at a time.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • 2+ years working in an ERP environment (SAP, Oracle, Sage or similar).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CPA, or CFA progress is a plus.

  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401K program with 5% company match
  • Flexible Time Off policy

  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Lead high-impact, cross-departmental initiatives—from M&A activity to complex tax structuring, ensuring all workstreams meet the highest standards of financial rigor.
  • Audit & Stakeholder Management: Own relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and strategic partners, ensuring seamless compliance and sophisticated reporting in a complex regulatory landscape.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven Executive Tenure: 10+ years of progressive finance leadership, with significant scale-up experience in high-growth technology environments.
  • Strategic Visionary: A track record of moving beyond the “numbers” to influence company strategy, fundraising, and organizational design at the Board and executive levels.
  • High-Agency Leadership: Experience building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing finance and accounting teams from the ground up.
  • Advanced Financial Architecture: Mastery of complex financial modeling, including the ability to synthesize multifaceted data sets into clear, actionable executive narratives.
  • Operational Excellence: The ability to instill structure and discipline in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment without sacrificing the agility required for a scaling startup.

  • Deep Web3 / Crypto Professional or Personal Experience: A sophisticated understanding of the crypto landscape, including treasury management of digital assets and the nuances of blockchain-native financial operations.

Perks:

  • Remote-first global workforce + NY office
  • Annual company offsite + team onsites
